Baimor
Just a thought ( probably a rubbish idea but I'm going to ask anyway! !!!) has anyone tried wd 40 or anything like that to coat rails to try and prevent rust in between running sessions?? I know it would have to be wiped off beforethe next running session but was just an idea I had.
roddy
Nickel silver rails don't rust. They tarnish. I don't think there is a cure for that.

mick
In my opinion it would be easier to go round with a track rubber than try to clean the rails of anything greasy. You'll also find that some areas of your layout will tarnish more than others as it's all down to localised conditions. Areas at ground level certainly tarnish to a bigger degree than track that's clear of the ground but it's not a big problem either way and the track rubber quickly puts a shine back on the rail tops. Baimor
Thanks Mick I knew there would be a logical reason no one used my idea!!
