So here is the plan! The area is about 7mx 5m.

I will have the tracks laid in blocks. The bf and I (mostly the bf lol) will dig out where the blocks will be laid. Then have blue metal down on top of that, will have a cloth material for drainage. Then the cement/mortar and finally the blocks on that. The tracks will be curved etc not straight like that.

I plan to have a pond in the middle with a beach scene and a mountain and waterfall scene with a tunnel through the mountain. The pinkish track going from the station to the beach will be in N scale with a tram taking people to and from the beach. This will be a slope as I plan to have the blocks 100mm of the ground.

On the other side from where the mountain will be I’m probably going to put some kind of removable bridge in to let a lawn mower in most likely a trestle bridge.

I will try and get some photos up tomorrow of where I plan do it. First thing before any of this starts is to finish the kitchen renovation and re do the stormwater pipes as they are the old terracotta pipes which are blocked. Anyway that’s the basic idea of what I have planned. It’s all in my head atm how I want it lol. Autumn is over and hopefully all the leaves have stopped falling and we can get a start on this project soon. Oh and there will be plenty of pictures!

Kristina :D

Looks like a great plan. The tramway to the beach is a very nice idea.

Your mention of the lawnmower has got me worried. The new baseboards I constructed yesterday could make it rather difficult to get my lawnmower into the back garden! Oh well, I'll find a way.

I'm looking forward to seeing another garden railway grow. Good luck.
