mick
Bachmann have just released a photograph showing an engineering sample of their forthcoming BAA Steel Coil Carrier Wagon. According to the Bachmann Europe plc website the wagons feature: Five-part steel coil load with cradles Compatible with BDA bogie bolster wagons Three differing styles of ends stanchions Authentic Type FBT6 bogies Representation of under-floor structure Detailed corrugated deck. The wagons will be released in 3 versions: 38-350 is in the EWS livery, 38-351 is in the Railfreight Metal Sector livery and 38-352 is in the Railfreight Red & Black Livery. I'm really looking forward to these wagons being available and obtaining a rake of them for use on the Selby Garden Railway. I remember these Steel Coil wagons from my railway days and the tremendous effort required by the hauling locomotive(s) in getting them started after a signal check. However, although they will certainly look the part I'm not sure I can fully recreate that sense of power in OO gauge but I do have the loco's in mind.
