traingeekboy
I love your layout videos. Is there a way to make it all one play in sequence on vimeo? I am not familiar with their control options.

doublecee
So, this big storm now has a name.... Storm St Jude... named after the patron saint of the depressed and the lost cause. Doesnt exactly fill me with confidence. Im sure we will take quite a hammering here on the coast... I hope you all remain safe and that your garden endeavours dont suffer any significant damage. doublecee
JUst picked up the LMS twins from Bachmann. Hoping to get in the garden soon, but its getting really really cold.
mick
JUst picked up the LMS twins from Bachmann... Haven't got the 'twins' yet but have submitted my order this morning. Wasn't sure whether to hold out for the black ones but I suppose I can get those later if they prove to be too irresistible! Did you manage to try yours in the garden? doublecee
Not yet, but will do soon I hope. I just ordered a full rake of the new railroad mk 1's which I think present exceptional value for money. So will probably wait till they arrive. The Twins are quite hefty so I'm hoping for some great traction and long rake pulling power!

Riddles
I'm afraid I can't find any reference to Palitoy Mainline railways in the video. Am I looking in the wrong place?

doublecee
direct links (but they are up on that original link... you just have to scroll to the bottom of the page and then go through till you find them, or use the search tool up top and look for Mainline). Riddles
Thanks for the direct links. I loved watching them. Palitoy Mainline to me, was the company which made Hornby really have to up their game, and start inproving their products to the quality we have today. Airfix Railway System came out about the same time, and both made Royal Scots, but Palitoy had the edge. Without Mainline, it's doubtful that Kader would have created Bachmann Branchline so we have a lot to thank them for. The theme tune for the television series Van der Valk, Eye Level, was an excellent choice of background music.
doublecee
Yes, Hornby were the market leaders throughout that period but Mainline and Airfix GMR were far superior in terms of quality modelling. However, I still prefered Hornby's Motor.
grockle
Brings back memories and I've actually got the diesel in the second video. Its had some weight added to it though so that it can haul a rake of 6 to 8 Lima MK1 coaches. Ian
doublecee
Nice sunny day today, and decided to test the new WagonCam This one shoots at full 1080p HD, and its currently housed on an old / new Dapol Fyffes Banana wagon chassis. I need to find a better chassis to counter track rumble finding its way to the onboard mic. Anyway, this is the most basic of tests, with me having no time to do a post winter storm service on the layout, I decided to just push it around. Twigs, chippings and bird crap all feature as the main cause for several derailments "> " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; PS: Did I share the old Palitoy adverts I found on film with you? I cant remember.... http://vimeopro.com/palitoy/palitoy-for-the-boys" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://vimeopro.com/palitoy/palitoy-for-the-girls" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
mick
Came here specifically to ask a question but having just viewed the video from 1st March (quite an eventful little trip round the layout) my questions has (I think) been answered. Any progress with the tunnel? Just read through the http://oogardenrailway.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=412' rel="external nofollow">'tunnel fever' thread from 2012 which led me to come and see how you had tackled it. I'm at the tunnel stage too and looking for some ideas.
