mick
Hot on the heels of the prototype Deltic, in their second collaboration with the National Railway Museum, Bachmann have announced that they are shortly to release a model of City of Truro. Available exclusively through the NRM website (http://www.nrmshop.co.uk/models/product/276887.html) the model will be released in time for a Christmas 2009 delivery and the news has come as a welcomed surprise to many model railway enthusiasts who have expressed a wish for this particular model to be made available. At a cost of £145 for the basic model it certainly isn't cheap but a percentage of the revenue from each sale will go towards supporting the NRM's work of preserving our railway heritage. It looks stunning but with so many new releases available recently, and with several more pending imminent release, I'm not sure that I can stretch to adding City of Truro to my collection just yet.
