This is 47406 "RailRiders", a Bachmann special edition 47/4 for The Engine Shed / Gaugemaster. This loco utilises the 47 body that doesnt have the NRN radio aerial on the cab roof (why cant some of the other 47/4 production runs ie 47612/47461/47541 utilise both bodies?) It has been fitted with a Howes sound chip which captures all the characteristics of these locos superbly. The loco came supplied with the bufferbeam details added at one end and just requires me to fit the cast nameplates and some subtle weathering. At present, this loco is the preferred motive power for a postal train I am creating (Bachmann please can we have some stowage vans to go with the brilliant sorting vans) and I am also planning an inter-regional set of Mk2' for the future.

I personally prefer the Bachmann 47 over other manufacturers offerings, but we need some more variants if anyone from Bachmann is reading this :) (In particular a 47/0 or 47/3 in blue or Railfreight Red Stripe would be nice ;) )
