mick
HORNBY R2781XS BR SUB SECTOR CO-CO DIESEL ELECTRIC CLASS 56 '56127' From lagging well behind the likes of the Bachmann Branchline range, Hornby have come a long way in recent years and their improved model of the class 56 diesel electric locomotive is quite simply superb. Well made, highly detailed, heavy and with good pulling power it is all that any modern image modeller could ever wish for. This model of 56127 depicted in coal sector livery is how I best remember the class 56 and is a livery that I think suited them well. As for the digital sound, I would say it is acceptable although not entirely a true account to my ears. Mind you, I am more used to hearing them from within one or other of the cabs rather than outside so perhaps it is more realistic than I imagine. This is one of 5 class 56 locomotives in my collection, but the only one I have that is fitted with digital sound. I have a long rake of HAA/HFA/HBA merry go round wagons ready and waiting to enter service once my layout is completed.
