Please Help with wiring diagram

Guys, can you check this diagram to see if it will be wired correctly, I will be running a analogue dc layout with bus wires under the track from the controller that’s inside the shed. The red arrows represent feeds from the bus wire to the track, also do I solder the wires to the track or fishplate ? My track will be  code 100 peco and using insulfrog hornby points.

many thanks .

Ok, I think your diagram is a bit simplistic. If you are using insulfrogs you should be ok, a;though they can introduce some quirks if you do reversed sections which you haven't.

You might want to do some insulators at the mid point of both passing sidings. It would allow for stopping trains more easily.

Since you are putting your power in the shed, you could also make the mainline into sections for blocks. You're already running wires out there, so why not have them on double pole double throw center off switches?

Happy new year 2018 Storm Trooper,  Traineeboy is correct,  but the big question is how many  locos do you want to run, these pics is what you will need to buy, these insulator track joins are made by Peco can get other brands as well, let me know and I will help you out in the wiring , DPDT switches you can buy form any Electronic shops. Don't worry about the FHS Kato Switch , was the best pic I could find.

I would solder the wires directly to the track ,on the outside not inside. , where do you plan to put your transformer.

We had a mild day today still humid in the afternoon, what  is it like where you are .

Hi Tony,

The transformer will be in the shed all the time as there is power points fitted in there. I will probably only run 1 loco a time.  I live in the uk and it rains a lot lol and normally cold. The points are insulfrog hornby, any help with electric/ wiring very much appreciated as this is a weak point. Why would I need insulated joiners and switches mate?

Cheers for the reply Deano.

Hi Storm Trooper, that is why I asked you how many trains you be running, you won't need those insulated and DPWT switches running only one train, if you decide to run more than one you need those insulated and switches, I started off with my first module layout with two passing loops and could run two trains at once in DC, My layout I plan to run four trains , a lot of wring, need to go DCC be easier, I will stick with DC can still have a lot of fun, I be using remote control on the main line throttles and be able to walk beside  the train where I can, and local throttles in the statin area and siding.

Have you started construction on your layout yet, going by your plan you plan to extend later, great  idea, that is what I am doing with my layout .

Hello Tony,

I can’t start my garden railway yet due to I’ll health but my brother in law has offered to do it for me in spring. Yes hopefully will be extending my railway plans in the future So at the minute I’m collecting stock and planning so everything is ready for spring.

i have purchased all the track (peco flexi code 100) and points also two locos and a few other bits. Going to order some tracksettas this week. It’s all exciting but disappointing track laying and building won’t start till spring.

Morning Deano, not good you are not well, I am in the vote as well but I push on, why it has taken me a lot longer to build my dream layout will get there. nice of your brother in law to offer build your layout for you. I had a bad year last year an uncle pass  away and my son in September, all explained in Personal Journals, called aussietmrail's, journey since 11-9-2017..

Good you can get every thing to together ready for him to start the build, I buy a bit at a time.

Being very hot my end of the world, had a change in very low 30'c degrees, managed to get something done today on the layout, keep an eye out on Camdale later.

Afternoon  Deano, I have a friend that lives up in northern Italy, hr said it is snowing there , lots of it he said, our turn, we have had lots of rain this weekend and it has being cold, today being the coldest day in 28 years for February, dropped down t 19 degrees, cold days be over tomorrow 28 degrees and still some rain, need it bad haven't had any all of January and very hot as well.

The price you paid for your Peco flexie track works out about what we pay over here, nearly $7 a length.

One minute it has being too hot now raining, I like to do the cutting with the battery saw outside the pergola, Monday looks a better day to cut the first station module new legs, coming along, once I level all the modules I will be setting up the Indian Pacific with 28 passenger cars and two locos, on track, be split on two platform tracks, won't be able to do that with the locos for a while yet.

Be looking forward to seeing progress of your layout.

Hi Tony,

Heavy rain here today and the possibility of snow on Tuesday my garden is a proper mud bath lol 😂.

Tracksettas have been ordered and due for delivery on Tuesday one straight and one 48” radius. Been spending the last week clearing space in my garden shed for storage of buildings and locos as I don’t want to leave them out at night. Cctv was installed last year so I can keep an eye on things.

Hopefully my brother in law can make a start on things end of February early March time as I getting inpatient lol.

keep us updated with photos of your railway looking really good mate

Hi Deano, sorry to here your wife isn't well, family come first always, hope the specialist can sort her out and get to the bottom of it, from what I have seenon Doco's on your Hospital ER's you have a good hospital system.

Thanks seeing a specialist early April, end of March have a couple of other appointments .

As usually the weather is upsetting our holiday, going, there is a huge shopping village here, and they have trams going to go for a ride on a tram the whole length of the line , pics to follow.

Agree, it does help me wind down getting out on the layout, knowing at the end you have achieved something to see the trains running around the layout.

Yes will do , Tony from wet down under keeping on moving ahead.

Hi Deano, how is your wife going now has her seizures settled down yet with the new medication and how are you going as well, any progress on your layout build .

Thanks the first specialist appointment is early Tuesday morning 9 am, we have to get up early that day to travel to the other side of Brisbane from Ipswich, facing the workers traffic getting worse.

Take care as well.

Hi Tony,

My wife’s new medication is helping but still not seizure free sadly, awaiting appointment with another  specialist.

Not much progress with my Garden railway 😪 apart from my shed has been made water tight I had a new roof fitted and new lighting inside ( I plan to store to buildings and locos inside). Extra cctv cameras fitted covering the area when my railway will be also ordering new locks for my shed.

My Garden was drying out but today rain and lots of it and the possibility of more snow to come 🙁. Hopefully should dry out soon so construction can start.

Good of luck on Tuesday.
