aureol40012
This would be my prime choice if it weren't for the price and rarity: http://www.vectis.co.uk/Page/ViewLot.aspx?LotId=93443&Section=1477&Start=40 The station is metal so is well suited to being outdoors. Is anyone using one of those? What do other people use?
TheQ
It's tin plate very prone to rust and the paint is probably not that sun resistant.. I haven't chosen what if any building I'd have outside, they wouldn't be permanently out anyway, Most likely it would be plastic. But if I wanted something permanent I'd cast something in concrete and paint that.
jimbob
An alternative to the Trix one is the Hornby Dublo station. If your prepared to do a bit of painting to get rid of the orange and yellow colour scheme (l can here collectors howling from here!) they look pretty good and again being metal are ideal for out side use. The are also, in relative terms, quite cheap. The thing l like about the Trix ones is the curved platform walls, they remind me of the Southern Railways art deco station on the Chessington Branch. I have tried the Airfix/Dapol canopy without much joy, the spindly legs are murder to get straight and the glazing is far to fiddly. Trying the Ratio ones next.
