  1. Did any of you see the pictures of Templecombes railway bridge with all of the water on TV? We drove under that. Matt
  2. Haha, yet your railway still looks great. Thanks for the advice Fungus I have noted that one down. Matt
  3. Do you have an estimate of how long the Selby Garden Railway was? Im interested. Matt
  4. Well Mick I am intending that the layout be built a few metres closer to the camera from the fence and the railway actually being wider than what you can see in the picture. I am going to try not to put a gradient in it which might mean moving the railway a bit up the hill where it becomes a bit more level so that its a bit easier to do but we shall have to see. It is just over exposure, its actually a field full of horses. and even though it isnt a river there the amount of water and the dampness of the ground at the moment is amazing, but then again I live in a part of the country that has had I think 3 flood warnings in the past week. I really am looking forward to getting back into OO gauge as I believe the detailing on the locos especially the 7f is really good. Grockle thanks for showing me the pictures, I am mainly doing it for the length of the trains and the ability to watch them going round and round. I have also been thinking about the various plants and finally decided that I would have to go and have a look at our local garden centre. Some more pictures to help you get the size and gradients of the space I have to play with:
  5. Wow those locos look great! Loving the railway and I admire your skills to keep it looking that good all year round! Matt
  6. Wow what a railway. I suppose clearing the lines is all part of the original commitment to a garden railway... Oh dear Matt
  7. I have been following this for a long time! Has there been any more progress recently? Matt
  8. Well then here I am. I have finally decided on building a garden railway in OO, currently I have a small uncomplete N gauge indoor layout and I have no OO stock at all. I used to have a OO gauge so have already experienced the size and things like that. I am hoping to change the rarity of OO gauge stock by getting the 7f commemorative loco '88' In SDJR Blue as this is preserved on the West Somerset Railway and I have travelled behind her many a time. Our garden is pretty big and I am able to get a pretty big garden railway in just the top half of our garden. It will be a challenge to build as it is on a hill but I am pretty sure I can solve issues like that with some good old labour . First some pictures of the space I intend to build said garden railway:
