    • Hi Baimor, welcome back to the Garden Railway site. I am so sorry you have had to put up with vandalism. I could not imagine the amount of pain and loss I would feel after all your hard work and most of all expense. I am a newbie on this site and still awaiting a period of dry weather to lift the covers on my layout. All best wishes to you for your new layout, and look forward to see the layout rise from the ashes
    • Hi again guys. It’s been about 6 or 7 years since I was last here. ( Baimor ). Looks like you’ve all been IMMENSELY busy with your railways and they do look absolutely amazing.  Im about to embark on my second railway after my first one was badly vandalised which made me lose faith and enthusiasm for it. However I’m (slowly) starting to gather track, etc, ( as funds allow) to enable me to begin a new railway after security measures have been stepped up dramatically.           Anyway, hi again to everyone and I’ll be uploading some pics as/when I’ve something to share.       Mark
    • Because I need something more stable for the garden, I have turned to Danish prototypes.  4mm x 4mm brass square tube which can then be attached to 3mm x 3mm square profile (brass, stainless steel) in the garden. 4mm x 4mm corresponds almost exactly to the original dimensions of the DSB catenary poles. I now use 0.7 and 0.8mm nickel silver wire instead of the copper-plated iron wire from Sommerfeldt. It has the right color and doesn't rust.
    • Greening with moss that I scraped from a disused road...
    • Great to see someone making progress with their garden railway.
    • Hello everyone! Another sign of life from me. The last bridge, the one from Italy, is finally being pre-assembled.    I've also replaced overhead line masts in exposed places with more stable self-built ones. Below is a picture of a portal based on the Danish model.   Apart from that, this was the first winter that passed without structural damage.   Greetings  Thomas
    • Nice to hear how things are going from you. This very damp winter must have been a problem for your viaduct. I will have to wait to see how my track and buildings have survived under tarpaulins once the winter weather ends. I have spent a little time relaying the tracks inside the shed. Some of the curves were tight and causing running problems.

It looks very smart and the length certainly adds to overhaul look. You should be very pleased. I am saving for a couple of coaches as they are as expensive as the locos were a few years ago. I feel that the hobby is for the collectors these days not the model railways runners. The seasons been a wash out this year.
We had a run up to Chester to see Making Tracks 3. Very impressive and like you running full length sets. Had a great day there talking to Pete Waterman and sitting by the river with an ice-cream

Hi all, though you might like my video of my Blue Pullman set. It's vintage Triang Hornby (Couldn't afford the Bachmann one!). Runs really well. I just love the blue and white livery!
