mick
Following on from Bachmann's new announcements for 2012/2013 comes the (anticipated) news that they are to produce a model of the Great Central 4-4-0 D11/1 Director Class loco 'Butler Henderson' No. 506 in the preserved Great Central Railway livery. The model is to be produced in partnership with the National Railway Museum and will be the fourth exclusive model between the NRM and Bachmann. Expected delivery is September 2012 and the pre-order price is £130.00. Further details on the National Railway Museum website.
cleanerg6e
I think I'll get that one too Mick and then I could have a 4-4-0 day with D11 506, City 3717, Midland Compound 1000 and T9 120. Modeler George Dent wrote in his second book that he used to polish all the brass and copper pipe work in the cab of 506 when he worked at the NRM, and nowadays it's all tarnished. He seemed a little upset which surprised me as he likes locos to have a weathered in service look to them. Looking at the photos of 506 at Barrow Hill Roundhouse it does have an in service look to it not all bulled up and pristine. Roy.
